Mud & Magnolias’ Influential Women 2017 luncheon event was held on Tuesday, July 11 to recognize, empower and support women in North Mississippi.

After enjoying a meal together, the program began by recognizing all who were nominated by the public as influential women. From those nominations, twenty finalists were previously selected by an independent panel and recognized for their influence in the communities they serve. (list of names below)

Aundrea Self of WCBI was the master of ceremonies and Justice Ann Lamar was the keynote speaker.

The overall 2017 Influential Woman of the Year was Bev Crossen. Crossen is co-owner of Blairhaus and Farmhouse in Downtown Tupelo. She is a board member for the Community Development Foundation, Tupelo Community Theatre, Downtown Main Street Association, Link Centre and the Weston Reed Foundation. She is the president elect of Tupelo’s Satellite Rotary Club, a NEWMS chairman, founder of BOSS: Women Business Owners Strategies for Success, a member of the Lee County Medical Alliance and Junior Auxiliary, and chairman for the Tupelo BBQ Duel for the last 7 years.
