Try This Tasty Twist On The PSL

The arrival of fall means the arrival of, among other things, pumpkin spice everything. Now, I’m not into pumpkin spice pancakes and potato chips and pumpkin soap, but I am into the most notorious of these pumpkin-flavored items: the Pumpkin Spice Latte or “PSL.” Each year, some of us usher September in with a trip to Starbucks for one of these sweet treats. Despite the lingering summer heat, those three letters on my paper coffee cup mean cooler air will arrive soon. I can imagine the feeling of a new sweater enveloping me. I mean, is there anything better? Actually, yes. And it’s called the Cinderella Latte (and yes, this is an entire post about lattes. We need to have a little fun every now and then).

You won’t find it on the Starbucks menu, but it exists, and it might be the perfect fall latte (sorry, PSL, we had a good run). It’s a latte with half of the pumpkin flavor of a normal PSL and one pump of white mocha flavoring. Mud & Mag Creative Director Lauren Wood read about the Cinderella Latte online, and we promptly drove to Starbucks to try it. Our conclusion: Do your taste buds a favor and order one next time. It’s sweet but not too sweet. Pumpkin-spiced but not too pumpkin-spiced. The word that comes to mind is “harmonious.” Also: Props to whoever named it after Cinderella’s white pumpkin carriage. Very creative.

To order it, just ask for a PSL but with half the pumpkin flavor plus one pump white mocha. You’re welcome!
