26th Annual Hog Wild BBQ Festival 2016 • Corinth, MS

October 1: The Hog Wild BBQ Festival is held in historic downtown Corinth each year on the first weekend of October. The entertainment and cooking contest venue is located at the corner of Fillmore Street and Cruise Street. The festival is 3 Full Days of BBQ, live entertainment, a carnival, games & fun for the entire family. Though it started on Thursday, September 29, the festival hosted by Main Street Corinth continues with musical acts Ben Briley, Laura Lee Jones and Adam Hood and a full day of festival activities, not to mention BBQ.


Trash to Treasures on the Tenn-Tom • Fulton, MS

October 1: The 50+ mile route of the massive yard sales starts on Hwy. 25 south of Fulton and continues along and adjacent to the Tenn-Tom Waterway all the way to the Belmont/Golden area. Thousands of sellers and buyers participate in this annual event. There is no charge to participate. You can set up and sell, or browse and buy.


Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo 14th Annual Pumpkin Patch • Tupelo, MS

October 1 – October 31: This family activity will be available the whole month of October so plan a day filled with a corn maze, hayride, games, a duck race and picking your own pumpkin. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 662-844-8709 for more information.


Sessions Open Mic: Spoken Word Poetry • Tupelo, MS

October 6: Hosted by Asia Rainey in the Black Box Theatre (Link Centre) offers a unique opportunity for the public to come present an original spoken word or favorite poem. Doors and list open at 6:30. More details can be found at


17th Annual Chili Fest • Tupelo, MS

October 7: The Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association will host the one-day festival held on South Broadway Street between Main and Troy and will consist of lunch, music and a chili cook-off. Lunch is served from 11 to 1:30 p.m. for $5. Dinner is served from 5 to 10 p.m. for $10. Not only is it a great event for guests to come and enjoy each other, they also have the opportunity to see local businesses compete for the best chili, most creative tent and best team spirit.
