Few things are as comforting as a table full of Southern staples, like this sweet tea, but with a new kick.
Spiked Sweet Tea
- 1 gallon water
- 15 black tea bags
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 cups bourbon
- 8 cups ice
- In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Turn off the heat and add the tea bags, making sure they are fully submerged.
- Steep for 18 minutes, then remove the tea bags and squeeze out any excess liquid.
- Add in sugar and whisk until fully dissolved, then mix in the bourbon.
- Transfer to a pitcher large enough to allow ice later on, and refrigerate until serving (then top off with ice).
