St. Patrick’s Day: Guinness Cocktail

If you don’t want to drink anymore green beer and upgrade your drink for St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow, try out this Guinness cocktail.

The Guinness Black Magic cocktail, adapted from SuperGolden Bakes, mixes Guinness beer, bourbon, fruit and a little bit of simple syrup. It’s very easy to mix up, and you get to look like a fancy bartender when you shake your cocktail mixer.

-1 shot of bourbon of your choice (50 mL/1.7 oz./one mini bottle)

-2 teaspoons simple syrup

-lime juice squeezed from half of a lime

-a handful of blackberries (about 4-6)

-a can of Guinness draught

-lime and blackberries for garnish

-In a cocktail mixer, add lime bourbon, simple syrup, lime juice and blackberries. Muddle the blackberries. (I didn’t have a muddler but a wooden spoon did the trick).

-Add ice to the cocktail mixer, filling it about halfway. Shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds.

-Split mixture and ice between two lowball glasses. Each glass should be about half full. Add Guinness to each glass, and stir. Garnish with lime and blackberry. Enjoy!
