Staff Picks – What We’re Watching & Reading

Carmen – I’ve recently been really into podcasts. One of my current favorites is Love + Radio. Each episode presents a different real-life story. Think Humans of New York in podcast form.

Check it out here.

Cover Image -- FINALEllie – I am currently reading Dispatches from Pluto: Lost and Found in the Mississippi Delta. I’ve lived in Mississippi my whole life and I’ve never been able to define this place with words, which is a shame since I work with words for a living. Then someone told me about this book by Richard Grant, and though I’ve never met him and he isn’t a native of Mississippi or even the United States, he articulates my heart for Mississippi perfectly.

I now think it should be required reading for every person in America.

Before the Fall-453

Lauren – I just finished this book called “Before the Fall” by Noah Hawley (the guy who writes the TV show Fargo).

It’s super good. 10/10 would recommend.

dory

Missha – I took my daughter Kelsey to see finding Dory while on vacation. It was as cute as I expected it to be and is a must see for families!

Harry_Potter_and_the_Deathly_Hallows_(US_cover)treegrows Amy – I just finished reading In a Dark, Dark Wood, a book I heard Reese Witherspoon is producing as a movie.  It’s not as scary as it sounds, but hopefully the movie will be more suspenseful.  Currently, my daughter and I are reading Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows together, and I’m also reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, a classic written in the 1940’s which I picked up from a Little Free Library in Illinois.  I am so glad I did, because I may not have read it if it hadn’t come across my path.

mrrobot

Shannon – I just finished binge watching the first season of Mr. Robot this past weekend. Just in time for season 2 which starts in a few weeks!
